Our Mission and Direction

At HoPEC, our mission is to empower, connect, and uplift.
We work to ensure that every person — whether new to the UK or part of the local community — has access to the support, guidance, and opportunities they need to live with confidence and dignity.

We believe that compassion and innovation can transform lives. That’s why we don’t just respond to challenges — we look for better ways to serve, to listen, and to create meaningful change.
Through tailored support, workshops, and community programmes, we help individuals build independence, strengthen families, and form lasting connections.

Our work is guided by real stories, real data, and real people. We measure our impact not by numbers alone, but by the growth, wellbeing, and unity we see in the communities we serve.
Every conversation, every project, every act of kindness moves us closer to our vision — a resilient, inclusive society where everyone feels valued and at home.

Empower People

Empower People

At HoPEC, we believe that every person deserves the tools, confidence and support needed to fully participate in life in the UK. Many migrants face language barriers, unfamiliar systems, and isolation — and we are here to break those barriers.

We provide practical guidance, digital support, and clear information so individuals can access their rights, services, and opportunities. Whether someone needs help completing forms, navigating UK institutions, improving their English, or building essential skills, we stand beside them with patience and respect.

Empowerment for us means more than assistance — it means helping people gain independence, confidence and the ability to shape their own future.

Build Community

Build Community

HoPEC was built on the belief that community is powerful. We want Eastern Europeans in the UK to feel connected, supported, and proud of their identity — not isolated or “on their own.”

We organise activities and events that bring people together, from cultural celebrations to family gatherings, workshops, and social meet-ups. These moments help build friendships, strengthen families, and create a sense of belonging that many lose when they move abroad.

By celebrating our shared culture and creating space where everyone feels welcome, we are shaping a resilient community where people can rely on one another.
Together, we build a home away from home.

Improve Wellbeing

Improve Wellbeing

Life in a new country can be overwhelming — the stress of work, housing, family responsibilities, and adjusting to a new culture often impacts mental and emotional health. That’s why wellbeing is at the heart of everything we do.

We offer workshops, group activities, and signposting services that boost confidence, reduce loneliness, and support personal growth. From mindfulness and walking groups to creative sessions and wellbeing conversations, every activity is designed to help people feel more grounded and supported.

For us, wellbeing means seeing the person as a whole — their strengths, their struggles, and their potential. We create safe, positive spaces where people can relax, reconnect, and rebuild balance in their lives.

Values

HoPEC — the House of Polish and European Community — stands as a beacon of support, empowerment and connection.
We exist to help migrants and local residents build stronger families, develop new skills and create a thriving, inclusive community.

Achieve High Impact

We aim to reach as many people as possible across the Polish and wider Eastern European community in London.

Our work is built on collective action, unity, and practical support — making sure help goes directly to the people who need it most.

Inclusion

We empower individuals of all ages and backgrounds to feel welcome, valued, and connected.

HoPEC is a place where differences are respected, barriers are removed, and everyone can take part in a supportive community.

At HoPEC, we are a group of people who saw a real need in our community — and chose to step in and fill that gap together.
