HoPEC’s Health Champion programme, funded by Haringey Council since 2024, empowers local residents to become ambassadors for better health and wellbeing within the community. Working in partnership with Haringey Public Health, the project supports residents — particularly from Eastern European backgrounds — to access vital information and services around immunisations, cancer screening, and emergency preparedness.

Our Health Champions share trusted information, encourage healthy lifestyles, and connect people with local support. Through conversations, events, and outreach, they help reduce health inequalities, strengthen community awareness, and ensure that everyone in Haringey has the knowledge and confidence to take charge of their health.
